Pilates is a passion of mine because it offers so many benefits for the body and mind, but does not require a lot of time or equipment.
Pilates has been so helpful to me, I wanted to share it with others. In 2021, I received my training in the R Studios Method in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

No, you don't need experience. Classes are modified for your level of fitness or any injuries/restrictions in movement. It's recommended you come a bit early on your first class to discuss your personal situation.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN YOGA OR PILATES MAT AND WATER BOTTLE. For in-person classes, props are provided during class, free of charge. Use of props is optional.
For online classes, no props are necessary, however, I may suggest household items you can use to enhance the movements.
My classes are meant to put the FUN in Pilates fundamentals. The moves are set to upbeat music, using movements that are based on traditional Pilates principles such as breath and body positioning. Every movement is carefully explained with clear "cueing" or prompts so that you can get the most benefit in the minimum amount of time. During in-person classes, I use hands-on adjustments for those who feel comfortable with them.
We keep things interesting by using balls, hand weights, bands and, sometimes, gymnastics ribbons! You'll laugh, you'll have fun, and you'll get a full body workout that will provide strength benefits that will carry over into other sports, workout routines and improved daily life. Classes are designed to be challenging, but you are always in control of your own range of motion and exertion.
