Running is an endless source of joy in my daily life. Consistent running has enabled me to have a healthy mind and body and incredible energy. Unfortunately, I tend to get injured easily, or I USED TO. Since I found Pilates, I can run pretty much as often as a like without injury. Plus my core strength and posture are better than ever.
I became a Pilates instructor to share this gift with as many people as possible. If you want a stronger core and want to prevent or recover from injuries, I can help!

I started running at age 12 - completely by accident. I just randomly joined a running club at my elementary school and never looked back. I guess those long, skinny legs I got teased about were good for something! I went on to run competitively in university, then went on to compete for the Canadian national team in an international 10 km event. I still love a good road race to this day, but I hung up my serious running spikes long ago.
My other passion is communicating. I’ve been in the broadcasting world since the early 90s. That’s when I started volunteering as a track meet sideline reporter for the local cable TV station. Those long, unpaid hours rolling up cable and asking sweaty runners, “How did that feel?” made me think I was ready for prime time. So, I cold called a local news anchor. He pulled a few strings and got me a meeting with his news director who told me I was “too green” and needed to go to journalism school. So, I earned my Master of Journalism at Western University. The day I graduated, that same news director hired me as a sports reporter in London, Ontario. For the next twenty years or so, I worked my way up to report and anchor for all of Canada’s major broadcasters in Montreal, Quebec and Halifax, Nova Scotia. I currently work as a news anchor/producer and co-host with CTV News Atlantic.
In 2022, I realized a long-time personal dream and launched the Start Anywhere Podcast for Goal Getters, which shares real-life stories of people around the world who have overcome obstacles to achieve extraordinary things at different ages and stages of life.
That same year, I also became a certified Pilates instructor. Now, I teach classes in-person and online, hoping to encourage as many people as possible to bring movement into their lives. It's incredible what consistent movement can do for the mind, body and soul!
Aside from running and chatting, my favourite thing to do is travel! Especially with family and friends. My family of five has had the opportunity to travel to Europe, China, Japan and all over North America. When I'm not walking around new and exciting places, I'm running around them.
